How will Brexit affect escorts?

Wed, 22 Mar, 2017

Brexit is not only coming, it's here! Prime Minister Theresa May is to officially notify the European Union next Wednesday (29th March) that the UK is leaving. Brexit has been one the largest polital moves in decades. It single handedly devided the entire country into groups of remainers and leavers. In June 2016 the leave campaign won a public vote by a mear 2%, dividing the country further.

The biggest problem with the Brexit yes/no vote was the lack of time and preperation. The decision to put the vote to the public was only made, 6 weeks before the voting commenced. During those 6 weeks a ruthless campaign of lies and deceit spewed out from both the remain and the leave campaign.

Nigel Farage (ex leader of UKIP) and Boris Johnson (ex Mayor of London) both led the leave campaign. There main objectives were based on the amount of money we put into the EU and also the strain free movement of people has on our public services and jobs sector. This was enough to sway the public vote in favor of leaving the EU.

Brexit affecting escorts

A massive political move like this will affect almost every industry, but how will brexit directly affect the escort industry?

For starters, by leaving the EU, the UK will most certainly put a stop to the free movement of people from EU countries. Over the past 10 years, the UK escort industry has seen vast numbers of European escorts coming to live and work in the UK. In 2004 the EU saw it's largest member growth, welcoming Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia into the circle. In 2007 Bulgaria and Romania joined increasing the size of the UK escort industry even more. Britain has always had a thriving escort industry and now many European escorts could take advantage of this. With the UK removing itself from the EU the flow of European escorts coming over will slow down dramatically. We predict London will be most affected by this as this is where most European escorts settle. There are now hundreds of London Escort Agencies specialising solely in the European escort market. UK punters have got used to a large variety of choice; as one escort stops working another joins just as quickly. Once brexit is in full swing the borders will close and the UK will introduce a new scheme to allow foreigners to live and work in the UK. The new scheme will most likely favor applicants sponsored by corporations and those with skills the UK economy needs. I cannot say for sure this wont include escorts, but it's highly doubtful.

Many European escorts coming to work in the UK often come to further their education at the same time. Currently College and University rates for EU citizens are the same as UK students. Once we leave the EU, education rates for EU citzens will probably be charged at the overseas rate which is almost three times the expense.

In closing, there are so many loose ends to tie up and agree with the EU before we all start seeing any affects. The divorce is expected to go on for over 2 years to iron out a new relationship going forward. It does look like any EU citizen currently living and working in the UK will still be allowed to do so but nothing has been finalised. The next 12 months will be very interesting indeed.
